The HDental program focuses on delivering essential dental care to individuals impacted by Huntington’s disease (HD) and educating patients, caregivers, and dental professionals about the unique oral health challenges linked to HD and to emphasize the importance of early preventive care.
The project also provides practical guidance, offering tips and resources for maintaining daily oral hygiene, including recommendations for specialized tools and techniques to assist both individuals with HD and their caregivers.
Currently operational in Italy, the project is expanding its reach in collaboration with the Factor-H team of specialists in Venezuela. This expansion targets Barranquitas and San Luis, areas identified as having the world’s highest prevalence of HD.
